In 2005 Sitting Volleyball Australia (SVA) provided information to the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) regarding the sport of sitting volleyball. This led to our sport being included in the Sports Ability Program implemented by the ASC. The Sports Ability Program is an inclusive activities program which targets young people in special education settings. The aims of the program are:
Sitting Volleyball is one of five activities (sports) included in the Sports Ability Program. The delivery consists of three main aspects:
Currently there are 150 kits in schools across Australia (54 primary, 31 secondary and 71 special needs) and a further 120 kits in other community centres and government departments also. If you would more info about this program follow this link Sports Ability Program
